The Goan Institute was founded in 1970 by a group of visionary explorers, who came to settle in the United States for a better life. Celebrating its 35th year in existence, the Goan Institute serves the rich Goan community of the Bay Area with fun-filled events for the entire family. Offering an escape from the burdens of everyday life, the GI seeks to unite the community at events that allow for shared emotions of laughter, tears, and even smiles. The Goan Institute's biggest challenge is to get the youth involved, building a bridge between the old way of life and the new one here in the Bay Area.
